2024-04-16 Applying Neurovine™ EEG Technology to Improve Health Outcomes After Head Trauma

Dr. Ashleigh Kennedy (Co-Founder and CEO) from Neurovine join Diana McGlinchey, MSc from the Victimology Research Centre at Algonquin College to discuss how Neurovine’s proprietary EEG headband and app are being used to improve outcomes for people who have experienced head trauma.

The team at Neurovine has worked with leading experts in the MedTech space, conducted trials in the Digital Health program at the Bruyère Research Institute, and worked with individuals diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome and other injuries to refine the technology.

Our Speaker

Dr. Ashleigh Kennedy, PhD, is a health technology executive with a special interest in the development and implementation of neuro rehabilitation technology. She received the Ottawa Board of Trade “Forty under 40” award for her work with brain health innovation at Neurovine and is a TEDx Speaker on the Ethics of AI in Healthcare. Dr. Kennedy has experience raising capital for early-stage companies, building and manufacturing hardware in Canada and navigating the regulatory process across North America. Her overall research interest is to investigate brain health and rehabilitation after injury or illness. She is very interested in translating data from the lab into real life interventions that have a direct impact on quality of care for patients.

Diana McGlinchey is the Principal Investigator of the Victimology Research Centre at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Canada. She holds a Master of Science in Victimology from the University of Portsmouth. Her research centres the voices of people with lived experience of violence, trauma, and resilience. Diana also teaches in the Victimology graduate certificate program and the Police Foundations diploma program at Algonquin College.
